Every RIT team should be ready, organized, and motivated to perform almost any rescue with a limited amount of gear. This gear, while vital, should be simple and easy to stage, as well as deploy. Make the most use out of all your tools.

"KNOW WHO RULES; KNOW YOUR TOOLS"

Rapid Intervention Teams need to have a vast array of equipment available to it at a moments notice. These tools, while vital, should be determined by each department and each incident. Firefighters operating on a RIT Team must be trained not only to perpetrate a rescue, but they must be familiar with the use of heavy tools, saws and hydraulic equipment.

Ideas for quick rapid rescue.
RIT Team entry bags need to have basic tools which could perform a rapid extrication of a firefighter. Keep these tools simple. Have your team train with these tools. Always remember your most important tool is air. Air should be the first tool that goes in with the RIT Team. Store your other tools in a separate bag which will have just tools and rope rescue gear.
